Piaseman Association of U.S.A.

Piaseman Association of U.S.A. (PASUSA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded with the expressed mission to improve the living conditions of the people of Piase in the Bosomtwe District of Ghana in the area pertaining to health, education, and socio-economic development.

PASUSA does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation or relationship to officers or members of the organization in its activities or operations. These activities include, but are not limited to, selection of recipients and provision of services. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all. Recipients of PASUSA’s funds and goods will be determined by rules laid down and not by affiliation with board directors or officers or members of PASUSA.

Aims and Objectives​

  • To foster harmonious spirit of cooperation and social interaction among members.
  • To establish procedures, and facilitate visits and telephone communications among members of the Association.
  • To enhance our traditional spirit of togetherness, and to promote assurance of our personal well-being.
  • To develop and maintain contact with other citizens of Piase in the Diaspora to further advance the aims and objectives of PASUSA.
  • To establish and maintain contact with stakeholders of Piase in Ghana, and contribute to the town’s socio-economic and educational developments.
  • To carry out any other purpose that is reasonably necessary to enhance the aims and objectives of the Association.

Our Vision

Enhance the living conditions of the people of Piase through the spirit of cooperation, social interaction among members and improve the health, education, and socio-economic status of the community.

What We Do

  • Provide readjustment education to immigrants to the US
  • Community development projects in Piase, Ghana
  • Annual Conferences, charitable giving, etc.

Our Community

PASUSA members can be found all across the U.S, from NY to CA. We welcome all who subscribe to the aims of the organization.

The Association is non-profit. It shall not be for pecuniary or financial gain, and no part of its assets, income, or profit shall be distributable to, or inure to the benefit of its officers or members except to the extent permitted under the applicable laws of the State of Ohio.

The Association is non-political. No part of the activities of the Association shall be the carrying of propaganda, or otherwise attempting to influence legislation, and the Association shall not participate in or intervene in any political campaign on behalf of any candidate for public office.

Non-Discrimination Policy
PASUSA shall adopt a Non-Discrimination Policy This policy shall ensure that funds and/or goods distributed by the organization are used for their intended purposes and by deserving recipients.

Conflict of Interest Policy
As a nonprofit tax exempt organization, PASUSA shall follow a Conflict of Interest Policy. The board of directors and officers of PASUSA shall commit themselves to work for the organization with an unbending duty of loyalty and fidelity. These persons shall exercise the utmost good faith in all transactions involved in their duties, and they shall not use their positions with PASUSA or knowledge gained therefrom for their personal benefit. The interests of the organization must be the first priority in all decisions and actions.

Accountability
PASUSA sees the maintenance of an organization’s tax-exempt status as important both for its continued financial stability and for public support. Therefore, as a public trust, PASUSA shall endeavor to subject its activities to scrutiny by and accountable to governmental authorities as well as to members of the public.

Membership

Membership is open to citizens of Piase who reside in the United States of America.
“Citizens of Piase” is defined as:

a. People born at Piase
b. People whose parent or parents are from Piase
c. People who were former residents of Piase
d. People whose spouses are from Piase
e. People who may subscribe to the aims and objectives of PASUSA

  • Honorary membership shall be conferred on good-spirited individuals and philanthropists who have contributed to or would contribute to the development of Piase.
  • Prospective applicants shall submit an Application and attach two (2) passport-size photographs.
  • The prospective member shall be invited to a general meeting at which time he or she shall be received into full membership
  • After the Oath of Allegiance, the new member shall be provided a membership card and a copy of the Constitution.
  • The effective date of membership of a new member shall be the date that the Oath of Allegiance was taken.
  • Monthly dues shall become payable the date that full membership is attained.
  • Prospective members cannot be admitted in absentia.
